Physiology in Perspective Walter B. Cannon Award Lectureship

The American Physiological Society awards the Physiology in Perspective Walter B. Cannon Award Lectureship to an APS member recognized for original, lifetime achievements in physiology; the recipient delivers a "Physiology in Perspective" lecture at the American Physiological Summit on Cannon's "The Wisdom of the Body," may have the lecture considered for publication, and receives a $4,000 honorarium plus up to $2,500 for Summit-related expenses while participating in special Summit events and selecting ten poster awardees. Selection is made by the APS Executive Committee and the award is nomination-only (self-nominations prohibited). Nominees must have been APS members for at least three consecutive years and nominations are submitted online with a curriculum vitae and two letters describing the nominee’s current position and contributions. The award cannot be delayed, is contingent on funding, and nominations are accepted by the listed deadline of Oct. 6 (no year specified).
