POSNA Research Start-Up Grant

About this program

Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America (POSNA) offers the Research Start-Up Grant of up to $10,000 for one-year projects supporting basic science and clinical research in pediatric orthopaedics, including pilot, patient-based, clinical, and multicenter studies (up to three awards annually). Applications must demonstrate clear clinical relevance in the title, abstract, and specific aims and are evaluated on significance, innovation, scientific quality, investigator track record, feasibility, and potential for future funding. Principal investigator or co-PI must be a POSNA Active or Candidate member in good standing; non-orthopaedic MDs, PhDs, or DVMs are eligible only if affiliated with an orthopaedic department and partnered with an orthopaedic surgeon/POSNA member as co-PI. Current POSNA grant recipients (except microgrant awardees) are ineligible to apply until their active award is completed and final reports accepted; preliminary data are not required but may be included.
