Presidential Service Award

About this program

The American Physiological Society offers the Presidential Service Award to recognize an APS member for extended and outstanding volunteer service to the Society and the broader physiology community, accompanied by a $1,000 honorarium and a medallion. Eligible service includes activities such as editing or reviewing for APS journals, chairing or serving on Society committees, leadership in sections or interest groups, participation in task forces or special projects, and outreach to scientific or public audiences; nominations are submitted online and nominees must be APS members. The Executive Board selects the awardee, who must attend the American Physiology Summit to accept the award; the award is contingent on funding and cannot be deferred.
