Princeton University Graduate Prize Fellowship (GPF) — University Center for Human Values

About this program

The University Center for Human Values at Princeton offers Graduate Prize Fellowships to post-generals Princeton graduate students across disciplines whose dissertation research centrally involves the critical study of human values, providing a premium 12‑month stipend and participation in a yearlong faculty-led Dissertation Seminar plus access to UCHV seminars, colloquia, and professional development workshops. For 2025–26 the stipend is $54,216 for Humanities/Social Sciences and $56,916 for Natural Sciences/Engineering (rates may be adjusted) and replaces the student’s University fellowship; stipend payments cease upon successful final oral examination, withdrawal, or other enrollment-terminating event. Candidates must be enrolled at Princeton, past general examinations, have distinguished academic records, and a dissertation centrally focused on human values; fellows are expected to make substantial progress toward completion and to participate regularly in the seminar and UCHV community.
