About this program
The Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) offers the Proctor Medal to honor outstanding basic or clinical research contributions to ophthalmology and vision science. The recipient presents the Proctor Award Lecture at the ARVO Annual Meeting and receives the medal, complimentary registration, hotel, travel, and per diem; applications open November 1, 2026, and close March 1, 2027. Nominees and nominators need not be ARVO members, but current ARVO officers, trustees, and Awards Committee members are ineligible. Nominations must include a detailed letter, three support letters, a summary statement, Google Scholar profile, and curriculum vitae, with institutional and prior-recipient restrictions applying.
