Proposition 1 Regionwide Grants

About this program

The San Gabriel and Lower Los Angeles Rivers and Mountains Conservancy offers Proposition 1 grants for water-related projects that protect or restore ecosystems and watersheds, expand access for diverse populations, and address high-need implementation priorities. Projects must be located within the Conservancy’s territory in eastern Los Angeles County or western Orange County, provide a water-related benefit, and achieve at least four of Proposition 1’s specified objectives; approximately $1 million is available, with applications accepted on an ongoing, two-phase basis. Eligible applicants include state or federal agencies, federally recognized or California-recognized tribal entities, local public agencies, certified local conservation corps, 501(c)(3) nonprofits, and joint powers authorities. Matching funds are not required, but projects with secured match funding may receive preference.
