Proposition 1 Water Recycling

About this program

The State Water Resources Control Board offers Proposition 1 Water Recycling funding to support local agencies in constructing water recycling projects aimed at augmenting freshwater supplies in California. Grants cover up to 35% of eligible construction costs, up to $15 million per project, with a required 50% local cost share. Eligible applicants include local public agencies, 501(c)(3) nonprofits, public utilities, Native American tribes, and mutual water companies. Projects must focus on recycled water treatment, storage, distribution, groundwater recharge, or surface water augmentation, excluding operation and maintenance costs.
