Proposition 13 – Water Recycling – Planning Grant

About this program

The California State Water Resources Control Board offers Proposition 13 Water Recycling Planning Grants to provide technical and financial assistance for planning projects that beneficially reuse treated municipal wastewater and augment California’s fresh water supplies. Eligible planning activities may address recycled water treatment, storage, distribution, pumping, groundwater recharge, and indirect potable reuse, with awards of up to $300,000 available through June 30, 2027. Local public agencies in all community types may apply, but operation and maintenance costs are ineligible. Non-disadvantaged communities must provide at least a 50% local cost share, while disadvantaged and severely disadvantaged communities may receive grants covering up to 100% of eligible costs.
