The California Department of Fish and Wildlife offers Proposition 68 grants to restore and protect rivers, streams, forests, meadows, and other habitats that support fisheries and wildlife while improving climate resilience, water retention, and recreational opportunities. Approximately $15.9 million is available statewide, with at least 15% reserved for projects serving severely disadvantaged communities; awards are provided through reimbursement over a three-year period, and matching funds are not required. Eligible applicants include California nonprofits, public agencies, and tribal governments. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis, and projects must serve California communities and align with Proposition 68 priorities.
