About this program
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife offers Proposition 68 Fish and Wildlife Improvement Grants to support projects that improve fish and wildlife conditions and strengthen climate resilience, habitat protection, water retention, and future recreational opportunities. Eligible activities include water acquisition or transfers, provision of water for fish and wildlife, land acquisition involving water rights, and aquatic or riparian habitat improvements. California nonprofits, public agencies, and tribal governments may apply on an ongoing basis; matching funds are not required, and awards are provided through reimbursements for projects lasting up to three years.
