PSGB Conservation Grants

About this program

The Primate Society of Great Britain Conservation Subcommittee administers small grants (typically up to £1,250) to support projects with direct benefits to primate conservation, conservation education, and related research, including work addressing threats to primate populations, incentive-shifting activities, and surveys directing conservation efforts. Additional funding streams include a Born Free Foundation grant of £1,500 for primate range-state nationals working on endangered species or human-primate conflict, and a Trentham Monkey Forest fund of £2,500 annually. Applicants must be PSGB members or primate range-state nationals and submit applications in English directly to the Convenor, with references submitted independently by referees; funding rounds occur twice yearly with deadlines on March 1 and November 1. Applicants are encouraged to review the IPS Code of Best Practices for Field Primatology and should not apply to multiple PSGB Subcommittees for the same project within the same year.
