PW Allen Award — annual award for most meritorious research paper in Science & Justice

About this program

The Chartered Society of Forensic Sciences (CSFS) awards the annual PW Allen Award, in memory of Phillip W. Allen, to the most meritorious research paper published in the Society’s journal Science & Justice in the preceding year. The Editor‑in‑Chief nominates an "Editor’s choice" paper and the Society’s Council ratifies the selection based on impact on forensic science, novelty, and scientific quality. Eligible applicants are authors (from academia or practice) of papers published in Science & Justice within the prior year; Council members who are authors or co‑authors must recuse themselves from the ratification process. The prize is non‑monetary: one year’s Affiliate membership for non‑members or one year’s gratis membership subscription for current CSFS members.
