Rail Safety, Security, & Emergency Management and Safe, Effective, and Clean Transit Excellence Awards

American Public Transportation Association (APTA) is soliciting nominations for its Rail Safety, Security, & Emergency Management and Safe, Effective, and Clean Transit Excellence Awards to recognize outstanding transit programs in safety, security, emergency management, operations, and environmental performance; nominations are due by COB Monday, April 27 (year not specified). Awards are offered in five categories: four for public transit systems based on annual unlinked passenger trips (3 million or fewer; >3M–<15M; >15M–<50M; 50M or more) and a fifth open to private Transportation Management or Contracted Service providers; paratransit initiatives should use system-wide ridership to select the appropriate category. Submissions are judged on benefit level, innovation, transferability, and effectiveness, and Gold Award winners will be asked to produce a short video describing the program/project and its benefits.
