Reginald Zelnik Book Prize in History

About this program

Offered by the Institute of Slavic, East European, and Eurasian Studies at UC Berkeley and administered by ASEEES, the Reginald Zelnik Book Prize in History is an annual cash award (amount unspecified) honoring an outstanding monograph in history on Russia, Eastern Europe, or Eurasia published in the previous calendar year and presented at the ASEEES Annual Convention. Nominations may be submitted only by the author or the publisher; eligible works are preferably single‑author (at most two authors) monographs originally published in English and exclude textbooks, edited collections, translations, bibliographies, reference works, and self‑published titles. Submit the online nomination form by April 15 and ensure one copy of the nominated book (e‑book preferred where indicated) is sent to each prize committee member so they receive copies by May 15; books may be nominated for no more than two ASEEES prizes. Publication date must appear inside the book or as the copyright date, and authors of any nationality are eligible.
