About this program

The American Chemical Society (ACS) offers the Award for Volunteer Service to honor individuals who have made substantial contributions to the organization's goals through their volunteer efforts. The award includes a $5,000 prize, a certificate, and recognition on a plaque at ACS Headquarters, along with up to $2,500 for travel expenses to the award presentation. Eligibility requires nominees to be ACS members for at least 15 years, with significant volunteer contributions, excluding past and present members of the ACS Board of Directors and staff. Nominations are accepted annually from July 1 to November 1.
