About this program

The American Chemical Society (ACS) offers the ACS-Hach Second Career Teacher Scholarship to support chemistry professionals in transitioning to chemistry education careers by obtaining a master's degree in education or teacher certification. The scholarship provides up to $6,000 for full-time study or $3,000 for part-time study, renewable for up to three years, and includes mentoring support during a three-year teaching commitment. Eligible applicants must hold a Bachelor's degree or higher in chemistry or a related field, have at least one year of chemistry-related work experience, and be accepted into an education master's or teacher certification program. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents with no more than one year of prior high school chemistry teaching experience.
