About this program

The APA Board of Educational Affairs sponsors the Distinguished Contributions for the Education and Training of Child and Adolescent Mental Health Psychologists award to recognize training programs that prepare psychologists to promote optimal child and adolescent mental and behavioral health within family, school, or community contexts. The selected APA- or Canadian Psychological Association-accredited doctoral, internship, or postdoctoral program receives $2,500 and a commemorative plaque. Eligible applicants are APA- or CPA-accredited training programs (doctoral, internship, or postdoctoral) with demonstrable focus on child and adolescent mental/behavioral health; applications are due by May 15, 2026.
