Richard R. Torrens Award

The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) offers the Richard R. Torrens Award to recognize volunteer editors who make outstanding contributions to ASCE’s journals or practice periodicals. The award honors sustained editorial accomplishments, including improvements in publication quality, timeliness, growth, and reader interest. Eligible candidates must have edited an ASCE journal or practice periodical published at least quarterly for 12–18 months, typically with several years of service and a sustained record of achievement. Nominations must be submitted by the sponsoring ASCE subunit and include a nomination letter, form, and documentation of relevant performance metrics; no more than one award is made annually.
