About this program

The California Wildlife Conservation Board offers Riparian Habitat Conservation grants to protect, preserve, and restore riparian habitats statewide through projects such as vegetation restoration, floodplain reconnection, invasive plant control, fencing, and stream reconfiguration. Approximately $5 million is available for two- to four-year projects, with awards provided through advances and reimbursements and proposals accepted on an ongoing basis. Eligible applicants include nonprofits, public agencies, and tribal governments; matching funds are not required, although secured cost share may strengthen an application.
