Rising undergraduates in mammalogy travel support

The American Society of Mammalogists’ Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Anti‑Bias (IDEA) Committee administers several programs—including rising undergraduate travel support to attend the ASM annual meeting, the J. Mary Taylor Award recognizing individuals or teams who advance inclusivity and multiculturalism in mammalogy, and the Black and Indigenous Scholars in Mammalogy Award to support research, training, or related costs. Awards can cover travel, registration, lodging and meal stipends for undergraduates, grants up to $1,500 for Black/African/African American and Indigenous applicants, and recognition for ASM members who demonstrate substantial impact on diversity and accessibility. Eligibility differs by program: undergraduate travel support is for North American undergraduates with marginalized identities in STEM; the Black & Indigenous award is open to Black/African/African American, African, and/or Indigenous applicants from or residing in North or South America at any career stage (priority to students and early‑career applicants); the J. Mary Taylor Award requires nomination by an ASM member and that nominees be active ASM members in good standing.
