The American Society of Ichthyologists and Herpetologists offers the annual Robert H. Gibbs, Jr. Memorial Award for Excellence in Systematic Ichthyology to recognize an outstanding body of published work in systematic ichthyology. The award includes a plaque and approximately $3,000, presented at the Joint Meeting of Ichthyologists and Herpetologists. Nominees must be citizens of a Western Hemisphere nation and must not have previously received the award; self-nominations are permitted. Nominations are due March 1, 2027, and must include a curriculum vitae, a detailed nomination letter, and up to three supporting letters submitted electronically in PDF format.
