About this program
The Society for the Study of Amphibians and Reptiles offers the Robert W. Hansen Herpetological Photographic Award to recognize outstanding photography of live amphibians and reptiles, with the winning image featured in Herpetological Review and potentially other SSAR publications and digital media. Images should depict subjects in naturalistic settings, preferably in situ, with minimal post-production processing. Applicants need not be SSAR members and must submit a JPEG or TIFF by April 1, including species and location details, a natural-history summary, photographer biography, and technical information; individuals may submit up to two applications annually.
