Rose L. Vormelker Award — ASIS&T award recognizing mid-career practicing librarians for teaching and mentoring

About this program

Association for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T) presents the Rose L. Vormelker Award to a mid‑career practicing librarian member who has demonstrated sustained commitment to teaching and/or mentoring; the recognition (an engraved glass flame) is presented at the Information Science Summit & Special Libraries Conference. Submissions are evaluated for demonstrated commitment and impact on students/mentees; jury appointment is March 15, nominations are due April 8 (11:59 pm PT), and selection is completed by May 15. Eligible nominees must be ASIS&T members in good standing whose primary professional role is non‑academic and who have at least ten years as working information professionals; prior award winners and current members of the Awards & Honors Committee or Board of Directors are ineligible. Nominations are submitted via the online portal and must include a 200–500 word nomination statement, nominee CV, letter of nomination, and up to three supporting letters from students/mentees (up to three pages each); no monetary prize is awarded.
