About this program

The Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America (POSNA) offers the Roshen N. Irani Microgrant—up to $2,500 for one‑year pediatric orthopaedic projects that promote broad participation or address underrepresented areas, including pilot research, travel for training, start‑up creative projects, supplies, or educational media (e.g., POSNAcademy videos). All dues‑paying POSNA members in good standing are eligible; residents and fellows may apply if a POSNA member sponsors and will oversee project completion; applicants may submit up to two proposals per cycle (only one award per investigator) and prior microgrant recipients within the previous six months are ineligible. Funds may not be used for faculty indirect costs, salaries, administrative/overhead expenses, or POSNA committee activities; applications are scored on promotion of broad participation/underrepresented areas, alignment with POSNA’s mission, originality, methods, investigator feasibility, budget/timeline, and potential to lead to next steps.
