About this program
The South Atlantic Modern Language Association (SAMLA) annually honors two outstanding scholarly works with SAMLA Studies Book Awards: one monograph and one edited collection in language, culture, or literature. For the 2026 awards, eligible books must have been published in 2025 and may be written in English or another modern language. Authors or presses may nominate works by April 15 using the Global Application for Awards, submitting a PDF or EPUB; all authors and editors must have been SAMLA members for at least one year and attend the annual conference, where winners are announced.
