About this program

The Wildlife Conservation Board offers San Joaquin River Conservancy grants to support property acquisition, habitat enhancement, and restoration that advance the San Joaquin River Parkway’s conservation, cultural-resource protection, public access, education, and recreation goals. Approximately $6.7 million is available for projects within the 5,900-acre Parkway in Fresno and Madera Counties, with applications accepted on an ongoing basis through June 30, 2027. Eligible applicants include nonprofits, public agencies, and tribal governments, and all projects must be approved by both the San Joaquin River Conservancy Board and the Wildlife Conservation Board. Matching funds are not required, although secured cost share may strengthen an application.
