Schroepfer Medal

About this program

The AOCS Schroepfer Medal honors a scientist who has made significant and distinguished advances in the steroid field, including sterols and other compounds containing the tetracyclic gonane ring system. Presented biennially, the award includes a bronze medal, an honorarium, and an opportunity to deliver a lecture at the AOCS Annual Meeting. Eligible nominees should demonstrate fundamental chemical, pharmacological, analytical, or interdisciplinary contributions; preference is given to mature scientists who have not received a major national or international award, and AOCS membership is not required. Nominations must include a letter describing the candidate’s research and service, at least three support letters, and a curriculum vitae with complete publication and patent lists.
