Science and Lake Improvement Account Program

About this program

The California Tahoe Conservancy’s Science and Lake Improvement Account provides approximately $350,000 annually for near-shore environmental improvement activities in the Lake Tahoe Basin. Funding supports aquatic invasive species management, improved public access to Lake Tahoe sovereign lands, public-land planning and site improvements or reconstruction, and acquisitions from willing sellers. Eligible applicants include nonprofits, public agencies, and tribal governments; projects require a 10% match from the Conservancy or another public entity. Applications are accepted on an ongoing, rolling basis, with awards provided through reimbursement.
