Sempre Conference Awards

About this program

Sempre (the Society) offers Sempre Conference Awards to help full-time students, part-time students and unwaged delegates accepted to present a spoken or poster presentation at a Sempre or associated conference with costs such as conference fees, travel and subsistence (funding available by negotiation); online participation is encouraged when feasible. Applications must be submitted by conference organising committees using the official Sempre form and are normally only accepted for delegates selected to present. Eligibility is limited to student and unwaged presenters, and the Sempre Trustees/Awards Panel assess applications based on applicant status, the UN HDI rating of the applicant’s home country and/or residence, importance of attendance for the applicant’s studies, likelihood of not obtaining other funding, proposed travel in line with Sempre’s Environmental Policy, and the organisers’ scoring. Successful applicants are usually notified via organisers, are expected to provide a brief summary of outcomes (and images where possible), and should contact the Sempre Chair (Professor Graham Welch) or the Conference Secretary (sempre.conference.secretary@gmail.com) for details.
