About this program

The Sheila Suen Lai Research Grant, historically offered by the Asian Pacific American Librarians Association (APALA), supported research projects and related conferences, workshops, programs, and writing focused on library and information science, particularly Asian Pacific American librarianship; it could not be used for professional association conferences. Applicants were required to hold an MLS or equivalent, work in a professional-level position, maintain APALA membership for at least one year before applying and throughout the grant period, and be U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Recipients could not receive another APALA grant or award in the same year, and committee members were ineligible. This grant is not currently offered.
