SIAM Student Paper Prize

About this program

The Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) awards the annual SIAM Student Paper Prize to the student author(s) of the most outstanding paper(s) accepted by SIAM journals within the three years preceding the nomination deadline, with up to three awards given and recipients invited to present at the SIAM Annual Meeting. Eligible candidates must have been students in good standing when the paper was submitted (they may no longer be students at nomination), at most one author per paper may be awarded, and the paper must have been accepted within the three-year eligibility window. Nominations—typically submitted by the student’s adviser or a senior co-author—must include a certifying nominator’s letter, the candidate’s CV (max 2 pages), and a PDF of the paper; the award carries a $1,000 prize, a certificate, and reimbursement toward travel to the Annual Meeting.
