SIGKDD Innovation Award

About this program

ACM SIGKDD's Innovation Award is the society's highest honor, presented annually to one individual or one group for outstanding technical innovations in knowledge discovery and data mining that have had lasting impact on theory, practice, or commercial systems; the winner receives $2,500 and a plaque and is recognized at the SIGKDD Annual International Conference. Nominations are solicited by a 3–5 member Awards Committee five months before the conference and must be submitted by the deadline three months before the conference, with nominations eligible for reconsideration for up to three years. Selection is made independently by the Awards Committee by a two‑thirds majority (there may be no winner in a given year), SIGKDD Chair and Awards Committee members are ineligible, and if a group wins the $2,500 is awarded to the group while each member receives a plaque.
