SNAG Lifetime Achievement Award

About this program

The Society of North American Goldsmiths (SNAG) presents the Lifetime Achievement Award, its highest honor for sustained, significant contributions to jewelry and metalsmithing; honorees receive a travel stipend to attend the 2026 SNAG conference in Detroit, complimentary registration, a specially designed physical award, lifetime SNAG membership, and recognition supported by the Maxwell/Hanrahan Foundation. Recipients are chosen by a three-member selection committee (2026 committee: Davira Taragin, chair; Sebastian Grant; Cindi Strauss) and the 2026 recipient is Joyce Scott. Anyone may nominate an individual and nominees need not be SNAG members; eligibility centers on a record of sustained impact through creative work, teaching, research, scholarship, exhibitions, curatorial activity, or other contributions to contemporary practice. Nominees remain under consideration for five years before requiring re-nomination; no deadline is listed.
