SNAME Undergraduate Scholarships

About this program

The Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers (SNAME) offers undergraduate scholarships to support one year of full-time study toward a BS in naval architecture, marine engineering, ocean engineering, or related marine fields, with awards up to $6,000 for select named scholarships and up to $5,000 for other undergraduate awards (the Sheri and Anil Raj Scholarship is open to undergrad or grad students at accredited U.S. universities). Applicants must be active SNAME members (membership required at least four months before the June 1 application deadline), enrolled as undergraduates during the award year and not receive their bachelor’s degree before April 15. Applications must be received by June 1 with all supporting documents by June 15, and must include transcripts/GPA and a 500–600 word essay demonstrating passion for the marine field and SNAME involvement; selection is made in July and funds may be used for tuition, textbooks and related academic expenses.
