Society for Mathematical Biology Meeting Grants

About this program

The Society for Mathematical Biology (SMB) offers meeting grants of up to $2,000 to support organization of mathematical biology meetings and courses, with funds to be used preferentially for travel support for students and early-career researchers. Applicants must be active, current SMB members for at least one year and proposals are evaluated by the Board on criteria including workshop significance, practical character, program organization, speaker excellence, student participation, international/local balance, matching funds, and facilities. Applications submitted to the Society’s secretary must include organizer name(s), event title, city/country, venue, dates, event description, speaker names and institutions, estimated total and student attendance, advertising plans, and a list of additional sponsors; decisions are made on a rolling basis and communicated within about six weeks of acknowledgement.
