Sorokin Lecture Grants

About this program

The American Sociological Association (ASA) offers Sorokin Lecture Grants to support lectures by recipients of ASA-wide awards from the previous two calendar years at state, regional, or affiliated sociological association meetings or academic campuses. Grants cover the lecturer’s travel and up to two hotel nights; hosts must cover registration and meals, with funding available for up to four lectures annually. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis through a letter of inquiry describing the event, audience, and preferred lecturer. Executive directors or association presidents, and faculty with department-chair support, are eligible to apply.
