The Air & Space Forces Association (AFA) offers a $500 State Aerospace/STEM Teacher of the Year award to recognize outstanding educators selected through AFA chapters. The program runs January 1–April 30, with state nominations potentially advancing to the AFA National Teacher of the Year program by June 30. Nominees must be current Chapter Teachers of the Year, with only one candidate submitted per chapter; AFA elected officers, voting members, employees, and their spouses or children are ineligible. Applications must include the complete Chapter Teacher of the Year package, a Chapter President’s endorsement, the State nomination with State President’s endorsement, and the recipient’s W-9.
