The Minnesota Historical Society’s State Capital Projects Grants-in-Aid program funds major preservation construction projects for publicly owned historic buildings, including restoration, rehabilitation, building systems, and accessibility improvements. Grants start at $10,001 with no current request cap and require at least a 1:1 match; applications open in fall 2026. Eligible applicants are political subdivisions authorized to receive Minnesota state bond funds, and properties must be publicly owned and listed or determined eligible for the National Register of Historic Places.
