Statistics in Physical Engineering Sciences Award

The American Statistical Association’s Statistics in Physical and Engineering Sciences (SPES) Award recognizes outstanding collaborative work using innovative statistical methods to address high-impact problems in the physical and engineering sciences. In odd-numbered years, it honors a qualifying paper published in the preceding two years; in even-numbered years, it recognizes distinguished collaborative work by statisticians and practitioners in industry, manufacturing, or research organizations. At least one nominee must be an ASA member and a member of the Section on Physical and Engineering Sciences at the time of nomination, with no minimum membership duration. Nominations are due February 20 and must include a nominating letter and relevant publications or an unpublished-work description.
