Steel Design-Build Grant Program

About this program

The AISC Education Foundation’s Steel Design-Build Grant Program provides approximately $10,000–$30,000 for steel-focused educational projects in U.S. architecture schools, including full-scale builds, prototypes, furniture, and studies of steel details. Awardees receive project funding and opportunities to collaborate with steel fabricators, with projects expected to begin by May 2028. Faculty members or students with a faculty sponsor from any U.S. architecture program are eligible to apply by January 11, 2027. Applications must include a project description, structural-steel and learning objectives, construction and facilities plans, partner support letters, schedule, budget, and contingencies; selected recipients must provide periodic reports, attend NASCC, and share project photos with AISC.
