Stephen D. Bechtel Pipeline Engineering Award

The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) administers the annual Stephen D. Bechtel Pipeline Engineering Award, established with Bechtel Foundation funds to honor outstanding contributions that advance pipeline engineering in research, planning, design, construction, publications, or presentations. Eligible nominees must be ASCE members in good standing; current members of the UESI Pipeline Division Executive Committee are ineligible during their term, self-nominations and lobbying are prohibited, and typically only one award is given annually unless the achievement is a joint effort. Nominations must be submitted via the ASCE nomination form with a signed cover letter, the nominee’s CV or biographical information, and two to three letters of recommendation; complete packages received by the November 1 deadline are considered. The award includes a plaque and an honorarium (amount determined annually), with the lead recipient receiving the plaque and cash when a joint effort is recognized and co-recipients receiving certificates.
