The Stephen S. Chang Award, supported by the Stephen and Lucy Chang Endowed Fund and administered by the American Oil Chemists' Society (AOCS), recognizes a scientist, technologist, or engineer for distinguished research that leads to the improvement or development of lipid-related products; the recipient receives a plaque, a US $1,500 honorarium, and the opportunity to present an award lecture at the AOCS Annual Meeting & Expo. Eligible nominees are industry-affiliated researchers in lipid science who have made significant basic-research contributions used by industry and who have not received the Alton E. Bailey or Supelco AOCS Research Award within the past three years. Nominations are submitted via the AOCS Awards Portal and must include a letter of nomination describing the candidate’s research and service, at least three letters of support, and a curriculum vitae listing publications and patents.
