STR Research Seed Grant

About this program

The Society of Thoracic Radiology (STR) Research Seed Grant provides up to $50,000 for one year to support young investigators conducting novel thoracic imaging research and to generate preliminary data for future funding. Applicants must be STR members; preference is given to Residents, Fellows, and Junior Faculty within five years of fellowship completion, and a faculty mentor or PI must be an STR member. Awardees are required to present results at the annual STR meeting (registration waived) and to acknowledge STR support in all posters, publications, and presentations. Funds may not be used for computers, development of teaching models, travel, overhead/indirect costs, or most faculty/resident/fellow salary (research fellows may request up to 50% for PI salary); salaries for research staff (e.g., coordinators, statisticians) are allowable.
