Student Subunit Rolling Equipment Fund

The Wisconsin Chapter of the American Fisheries Society (WI AFS) offers the Student Subunit Rolling Equipment Fund to provide up to $1,000 per budget year for WI AFS student subunits to purchase equipment that supports chapter/subunit mission, emphasizes experiential learning, and aids recruitment. Any WI AFS student subunit may submit one written (email) request per budget year listing each equipment item, costs, and intended use; preference is given to subunits not funded in the past three years and the incoming Chapter President may remove the allocation if resources are limited. Deadlines are March 1 and, if funds remain, October 1; applications are reviewed by the Chapter President, Executive Committee, and Student Affairs chair with majority Executive Committee approval required and partial funding possible. Following approval, subunits work with the Chapter Treasurer for reimbursement or vendor payment, ensure purchases are tax‑exempt, and complete all payments and reimbursement requests between approval notification and January 15 of the budget year.
