The Tampa Bay Environmental Restoration Fund (TBERF), supported by public and private contributors and administered through the Tampa Bay Estuary Program, provides competitive grants for habitat restoration, water quality improvement, applied research, and education projects in the Tampa Bay watershed. Typical awards range from $25,000 to $250,000, with approximately $700,000 available annually; projects must be completed within three years and provide at least a 1:1 cash or in-kind match. Eligible applicants include government entities, nonprofit organizations, and educational institutions. The next request for proposals is expected in January 2027, with applications due in March.
