Tax-Exempt Equipment Financing Program – CHFFA

The California Health Facilities Financing Authority (CHFFA), within the State Treasurer’s Office, offers tax-exempt, fixed-rate financing for eligible health facilities to purchase or reimburse qualifying equipment, including minor installation costs. Loans range from $500,000 to $50 million, with market-determined interest rates and terms tied to the equipment’s useful life; applications are accepted on an ongoing basis. Eligible applicants are nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporations or public health facilities that have operated for at least three years and demonstrate fiscal soundness and repayment ability. Applicants must submit audited financial statements for the three most recent fiscal years; matching funds are not required.
