Taxonomic Research at Beetle Collections Grant

About this program

The Coleopterists Society offers the Taxonomic Research at Beetle Collections Grant, making three annual awards of up to USD 2,000 each to subsidize travel (airfare, lodging, meals) for beetle taxonomic research such as reviews, revisions, and monographs, with priority for under‑funded applicants and proposals for future travel. Applicants must be members in good standing of The Coleopterists Society and submit a project description (≤2 pages) outlining research goals, benefits to applicant and host collection(s), and deliverables, plus a proposed itinerary, budget, CV (≤2 pages), a colleague’s letter of support, and confirmation emails from the host collections. Applications are evaluated on feasibility, deliverables, and taxonomic/coleopterological impact and are typically due March 1 each year; for details and submission contact Dr. Aaron Smith (smit3866@purdue.edu).
