Offered by the Preventive Cardiovascular Nurses Association (PCNA), the Terry Thomas Clinical Practice Award recognizes excellence in preventive cardiovascular nursing by honoring nurses who deliver outstanding patient care and contribute beyond basic duties in areas such as cardiac rehabilitation, risk factor management, case management, counseling, and education. The winner is recognized at the PCNA Annual Cardiovascular Nursing Symposium and receives a plaque, complimentary symposium registration, reimbursement for air or auto travel, and a 3-night hotel stay. Applicants must be current PCNA members with an established career in preventive cardiovascular nursing; candidates may self-nominate or be nominated, must demonstrate exemplary clinical care and professional contributions, and must attend the Annual Symposium to accept the award. Application requires a completed nomination form, two supporting professional letters, and a current CV; submissions open July 1 and all materials must be received by the PCNA National Office on or before December 6.
