About this program
The Texas Historical Commission offers the Texas Historic Courthouse Preservation Program, a competitive grant program providing up to $10 million to eligible Texas counties for preserving and rehabilitating historic county courthouses. Eligible projects must involve a building that serves or formerly served as a county courthouse, is more than 50 years old or certified as worthy of preservation, and has a current master plan approved by the Commission. Applications are accepted through a biannual competitive process, with the current deadline of May 8, 2027.
