The Dan and Mary Lou Schendel Best Paper Prize

About this program

Wiley and the Strategic Management Society jointly fund the Dan and Mary Lou Schendel Best Paper Prize to recognize a Strategic Management Journal article that, after at least five years, has demonstrated substantial impact on teaching, research, and/or practice. The SMJ Editorial Board selects the annual winner, whose author(s) receive US$5,000 and are formally recognized at the SMS Annual Conference. Eligible works are articles published in SMJ five or more years before recognition and remain eligible in subsequent years until selected; there is no applicant submission deadline and selection emphasizes demonstrable influence such as citations and broader uptake.
